Walking is a basic human right that should be affordable to everyone everywhere
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) there are approximately 32 million amputees in the world. 80% of them live in developing countries and only 5% of those are fitted with a suitable prosthesis.
SwissLeg provides affordable artificial limbs to amputees in the developing world. Our team is dedicated to making walking a reality for those in need, especially those who live where the ability to walk is vital to their very survival. We offer expertise in management, ortho-prosthetics, venture development, technology and training.
Thanks to the fruitful cooperation with High Council of Persons with Disabilities, the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation , represented by Mr. Adnan Telfah and Mr.Awni Ayasrah and the Jordan Ministry of Health represented by the prosthetic team from the Al-Basheer Hospital, we addressed the need of 16 amputees, who are mainly land mine victims with a “below-knee” amputation.
